DES MOINES, Wash. — A 31-year-old man was shot and killed early Sunday in Des Moines, and police are searching for the suspect responsible.
According to the Des Moines Police Department, officers responded around 1:55 a.m. to Marine View Drive South following reports of a shooting.
When officers arrived, they found the man with gunshot wounds. Officers immediately began providing first aid until medics arrived. Despite lifesaving efforts, the man died.
Investigators said the suspect was nowhere to be found. Detectives are actively working to identify and locate the person responsible for the shooting.
The incident remains under investigation, and authorities said no additional details are available at this time.
As detectives process the crime scene, Marine View Drive South is closed between South 222nd Street and South 223rd Street. Drivers are urged to avoid the area and use alternate routes.
