FEDERAL WAY, Wash. — A man was killed after losing control of his car on State Route 18 in Federal Way on Monday.
Washington State Patrol troopers were called to the scene on westbound SR 18 approaching Weyerhauser Way at 2:23 a.m.
Troopers said the driver lost control of his car and left the highway to the right. His car struck a tree before coming to rest down an embankment.
The driver was killed in the crash.
Road conditions were wet at the time but the driver was also suspected of DUI, according to a WSP memo.
The man’s identity is being withheld until his family is notified.
