Man presumed dead in Lake Washington is actually fine

SEATTLE — A swimmer off Madison Park Beach who was presumed to have drowned is fine.

The man jumped off a high dive about 9 p.m. Sunday, but not one saw him come back up. He was reported missing.

Firefighters searched for the man in his 20s for a few hours, but never found him.

Firefighters turned the search over to police, who later said the man had been in the water so long that it was a recovery effort.

A call to Seattle police by the KIRO 7 News desk Monday revealed that the "missing" man actually emerged from the water at some point and went home.

He is fine.
