Man shot and killed at SeaTac Safeway parking lot, suspect arrested

A 36-year-old man died after being shot in the chest at a Safeway in SeaTac on Saturday night, according to police.

The 36-year-old suspect was arrested in Renton on Monday. The suspect will be transported to King County Jail and booked on investigation of murder.

The shooting occured in the 4000 block of South 164th Street shortly after 10 p.m.

The suspect shot the victim in the chest, got into a blue car and sped off. The victim tried to run but didn't make it far, and collapsed a short distance away, according to witnesses at the scene.

King County Sheriff's Sgt. Ryan Abbott said the victim was seen outside of his vehicle arguing with the suspect before the shooting, and that he believes the suspect and victim knew one another.

King County Major Crimes will continue to investigate.
