Man shot in foot in Uptown shooting

SEATTLE — A man limped into a business near 1st Avenue and Mercer Street and said he was shot in the foot, according to Seattle police.

Officers responded to a call on Monday before 11:30 a.m. and a man told police he was standing on the corner of Mercer Street and Queen Anne Avenue North when a man in white station wagon drove by him.

The man said the driver circled the block before shooting at him, striking him in the foot.

The man indicated he may know the identity of the shooter, but declined to provide that information to police.

He was transported by ambulance to an area hospital in stable condition.

Witnesses at the scene told police the man had been involved in an altercation with another man about 15 minutes before the shooting.

Officers are investigating.
