SUMNER, Wash. — The Sumner Police Department is trying to find a group of people who shot at a man late Sunday night.
It happened around 11:30 p.m.
Officers heard gunshots and followed the sound to the Academy Street area.
They found a 22-year-old man with a gunshot wound in the hip area.
He told police that he was walking with a female friend of his when a group of men came up to him and shot at him. Officers say it happened at the intersection of Kincaid Avenue.
The man told police he knew at least one of the men in the group.
The man was taken to Tacoma General to be treated for his injuries and is expected to be okay.
The incident remains under investigation.
