Suspect slashes man with sword in Seattle (Seattle Police Department)

SEATTLE — A 51-year-old man is recovering after being slashed in the lip by a person with a sword in Seattle’s Chinatown-International District.

Around 6:37 a.m. on Wednesday, police got a call about a person slashed with a sword at an apartment complex near 400 8th Avenue South.

When police arrived, they provided aid to the man until Seattle Fire arrived.

Police said that the suspect got into an argument with the victim and then swung a sword striking him in the lip before leaving on a BMX-style bike.

Seattle Fire took the man to Harborview Medical Center in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect was found a few blocks away at Hing Hay Park and arrested on suspicion of assault.
