Several Memorial Day events are set for Monday across Western Washington.

9 a.m. – Dupont: wear blue: run to remember Memorial Day run at PowderWorks Park, 1770 Bobs Hollow Lane.

9 a.m. – Arlington: Veterans Memorial Ceremony to rededicate Haller Bridge, 1100 West Ave.

A portion of the Centennial Trail will be rededicated on Memorial Day in honor of Snohomish County residents who perished during the Global War on Terror, 9/11/2001 to the present.

10:30 a.m. – Olympia: Thurston County Veterans Council Annual Memorial Day Ceremony, Washington State Capitol Dome Rotunda, 416 Sid Snyder Avenue Southwest.

10 a.m., 11 a.m. - Seattle: Service of Remembrance, Veterans Memorial Cemetery at Evergreen Washelli, 11111 Aurora Ave N. Service at 11 a.m. Flag placement by veterans, scout groups and community members at at 10 a.m.

A brief memorial service, including the Washington State Guard, members of the NW Junior Drum and Pipe Band, and Chaplain Linda Haptonstall of the King County Sheriff’s Office.

11 a.m. – Tacoma: 15th Annual Memorial Day Service, War Memorial Park, 7201 Sixth Avenue and MacArthur Street.

Program includes the All-City Junior ROTC Color Guard, 133rd Band from Washington National Guard and keynote speaker, Deputy Mayor Catherine Ushka.

11 a.m. – Edmonds: Memorial Day Ceremony, Edmonds Memorial Cemertery, 820 15th Street SW.

11 a.m. to 4 p.m. – Seattle: Memorial Day Ceremony at the Museum of Flight, 9404 E. Marginal Way South.

Schedule:

  • 11 a.m. to noon - Boeing Band performs patriotic music
  • Noon to 1 p.m. - Memorial Day Presentation and Keynote
  • 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. - Film Screening: To What Remains; Q&A to follow

11 a.m. – Stanwood: The annual Memorial Day program by Stanwood American Legion Post 92 will be at Anderson Cemetery, 7630 Pioneer Hwy.

Includes flags, speakers, music, rifle salute and the playing of Taps.

11 a.m. - Lynnwood: Memorial Day Ceremony at Veteran’s Park, 44th Avenue West and Veterans Way.

Lynnwood American Legion Post 37 and Lynnwood Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1040 sponsor a ceremony with music, the laying of a wreath and a rifle salute.

1 p.m. – Kent: Memorial Day Ceremony at Tahoma National Cemetery, 18600 SE 240th Street, at the flagpole assembly area.

The Avenue of Flags will be displayed to honor veterans for their service.

1 p.m. - Renton: Memorial Day Celebration at Veteran’s Memorial Park, 523 S Third Street.

The City of Renton honors military veterans each Memorial Day in a ceremony at Veterans Memorial Park.

2 p.m. – Lakewood: Joint Services Memorial Day Ceremony, Mountain View Memorial Park, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd. SW.

Includes a keynote speaker, JBLM Quintet, reenactment by the Buffalo Soldiers Mounted Cavalry, wreath laying ceremonya and presentation of colors.
