King County Metro suspended routes start Monday amid ongoing staffing shortages

More King County Metro routes will be suspended starting Monday as the transit agency shifts buses to even out service across its seven bases.

From June 12 to 23, six peak weekday routes will be suspended on top of the existing cuts to 20 routes in September, which Metro announced earlier this year. Those suspensions come amid shortages of drivers and mechanics.

The routes suspended starting Monday include 16, 232, 237, 301, 304 and 320.

Metro said it is also dealing with bus shortages as crews make repairs during supply chain issues.

The agency encourages riders to sign up to receive transit alerts as possible trip cancellations or route suspensions can occur.
