More than $1.7 million of narcotics seized, 2 arrested in Renton drug bust

Renton officers recovered more than $1.7 million of narcotics earlier this week and are calling it the “largest” drug bust in the police department’s history.

On April 19, officers with help from the Valley SWAT team seized several pounds of drugs and firearms, and arrested two people after a lengthy criminal investigation.

Investigators seized 39 pounds of methamphetamine, 8.75 pounds of heroin, 6.6 pounds of cocaine and 5,000 oxycontin pills. Two firearms were also seized.

“This marks the largest narcotics bust in Renton police history,” the department said.

Investigators said the two people arrested are being charged with intent to distribute illegal narcotics.

The investigation remains ongoing.
