KENT, Wash. — A grieving mother is begging for your help as she seeks justice following the death of her son.
Demetrius Marquel Marr-Woods, 27, was shot and killed outside the Cloud 9 Bar and Grill in Kent about two weeks ago.
“He had so much potential,” said his mother, Alisia Marr.
Demetrius Marquel Marr-Woods was an up-and-coming artist who was set to move to Jamaica this month, according to his mother.
Police have not announced any arrests or suspects.
While police said initial information seemed to suggest the shooting was not random, Marr believes that it was. She said she’s frustrated by conflicting accounts and timelines.
“I need answers to these questions,” she said. “I have so many questions, and nobody wants to talk. I have to get these answers.”
KIRO 7 reached out Sunday to Kent Police and has not yet received a response.
Marr, and the attorney for her son’s estate, feel like more could have been done to prevent the violence.
“This shouldn’t happen,” said Evan Oshan, an attorney with Oshan & Associates. “This should have never happened.”
Oshan said he’s been frustrated by the lack of documents and records available during an active investigation. He is hopeful justice will be served soon.
