FIFE, Wash. — A 31-year-old woman was taken into custody Sunday after Fife police said she admitted to “intentionally” injuring her small children.
Police were called about 4:40 p.m. to the 3200 block of Festival Avenue East after a caller told a 911 dispatcher she had just killed her 4-year-old daughter and that she was going to kill her baby boy, officials said.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found the 4-year-old girl unconscious. They also found a 2-year-old boy who was alert.
Both children were taken to Mary Bridge Hospital in Tacoma for care, but the young girl remains in critical condition, police said. The young boy was held for observation.
The woman was booked into the Pierce County Jail for investigation of two counts of first-degree attempted murder.
