KITSAP COUNTY, Wash. — A 21-year-old man was airlifted to Seattle’s Harborview Medical Center Friday afternoon after his motorcycle struck a van, the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office said.
The crash happened at about 12:51 p.m. at Silverdale Way Northwest and Linder Way Northwest in Silverdale.
Officials said, the motorcyclist is in the armed forces and was going northbound on Silverdale way when he hit the back driver-side of the Dodge Caravan, which was attempting to make a left turn.
The driver of the van told deputies she did not see the motorcycle approaching, officials said.
Deputies said friction marks from the motorcycle indicate he was traveling above the speed limit.
No impairment was found for either driver, deputies said.
The crash is under investigation.
