MOUNT VERNON, Wash. — Tulip Town is expected to be so packed this weekend that the Washington State Department of Transportation put out a traffic warning for Mount Vernon.
Right now organizers say the tulips are at 50% bloom. It’s been a slow start but they expect peak bloom anytime in the next week as warmer weather comes in.
“What we’ve decided at the farm is as long as we have significant color in the field we are going to stay open,” said organizers.
Tulip Town posted on its Facebook page Saturday morning that they are going to make an extension announcement soon.
As for traffic, the WSDOT says people can use Exit 230 on Highway 20 to avoid some of the congestion.
💐A few weekend reminders - the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival is happening so expect lots of tulip traffic& the street festival in Mt Vernon is also happening.
