SEATTLE — Seattle police are investigating several overnight shootings, with almost 50 shots fired across three incidents.
Around 10:50 p.m. on Thursday night, Seattle police responded to a report of a man who fired a handgun at a bus stop in the SODO neighborhood.
When officers arrived, they found the man getting onto a Metro bus.
Officers entered the bus and took the man into custody.
When they noticed a handgun magazine sticking out of his pants pocket, another person riding the bus told officers where the man had hidden a gun under a seat.
The 34-year-old man, a felon, was booked into King County Jail for multiple firearm violations.
Around 12:05 a.m. on Friday morning, a 54-year-old man was sitting in his car in the 3600 block of South Adams Street when a man with a gun approached him.
The shooter fired at least 30 times, striking the man several times.
A bystander heard the shots, found the man and drove him to Harborview Medical Center for treatment.
Around 12:20 a.m. on Friday morning, someone fired shots in the 4200 block of South Willow Street.
When officers arrived, they found 16 shell casings in the street.
They were unable to find anyone that witnessed the shooting or were able to provide a description of the shooter.
