Must live or work in Washington to get vaccinated at mass sites, DOH says

On Wednesday, the Washington State Department of Health released a statement about who could get vaccinated at mass vaccination sites, limiting it to people who live or work in the state.

The DOH pointed out the four mass vaccination sites, which Gov. Jay Inslee had already announced: Ridgefield, Spokane, Kennewick and Wenatchee.

“If you do not live or work in Washington, please do not make vaccine appointments or travel to these Washington mass vaccination sites for vaccines,” the DOH stated.

The news comes following a shortage of vaccine doses.

However, health officials said, “Regardless of citizenship or immigration status, all eligible people living or working in Washington should get vaccinated.”

People who are eligible for vaccination at the mass vaccination sites will be asked to show the following:

  • Driver’s license or work/school ID.
  • Letter with your address.
  • Utility bill.
  • Statement/letter with a Washington state address.
  • Voucher from an employer, faith-based institution, health care provider, school, or other registered organization or agency, etc. that the person lives or works in Washington state.

Officials said that while the sites will not make a copy or record any information, proof is needed to show where someone currently resides or works in the state.
