NAS Whidbey Island to hold flight training operations Jan 27 to Feb 2

WHIDBEY ISLAND, Wash. — Naval Air Station Whidbey Island will be holding flight training operations from Jan. 27 to Feb. 2.

During this time the community can expect to see low-flying aircraft around the airfield as they participate in aircraft carrier flight training.

Ault Field will continue to be in a 24-hour-a-day operation during this time.

According to NAS Whidbey Island, flight training will take place as scheduled:

  • Monday, Jan. 27 from late afternoon to late evening
  • Tuesday, Jan. 28 from late morning to afternoon, then evening
  • Wednesday, Jan. 29 late afternoon to late evening
  • Friday, Jan. 31 from late morning to afternoon

The Flight Carrier Landing Practice and other carrier-based training tempos are driven by operational training requirements and may fluctuate due to weather and maintenance, NAS Whidbey Island wrote in a Facebook post.
