LYNNWOOD, Wash. — Beginning Thursday, people will have a new option for getting around parts of Lynnwood.
Community Transit is launching a pilot project called the Zip Alderwood Shuttle, providing on-demand shuttle rides.
People will be able to book a trip by calling a phone number or using the GOIN’ - Rides for All app, which works a lot like Uber and Lyft.
A car or van should show up within 15 minutes to take users to their destinations within the Alderwood service area.
The price is the same as a bus fare, $2.50 for adults.
Four cars will be assigned to the Alderwood area, running from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week.
Community Transit hopes to launch similar services in Arlington, Darrington and Lake Stevens.
Details on how to use the service can be found here.
