SEATTLE — Seattle chef Victor Steinbrueck is expanding his seafood empire with a new restaurant in Ballard.
GoodMart opens Thursday as a seafood market and deli, with a 40-seat cafe. The menu will feature locally harvested seafood, including oysters and poke bowls.
The restaurant will be located at 5130 Ballard Ave. NW, where Kathy Casey Food Studios previously existed for the past 27 years.
The location was initially set to open in late August, but was delayed by approximately a month.
Steinbrueck opened his first restaurant, Local Tide, in Fremont in 2020. Local Tide is a seafood eatery inspired by his Chinese, Filipino, and German heritage. The restaurant sources its seafood sustainably from the Pacific Northwest.
In 2025, StarChefs crowned Steinbrueck as a Seattle Rising Stars award winner.
