KITSAP COUNTY and KING COUNTY — There is new evidence that the drug fentanyl is being sold in rock form in King and Kitsap counties, according to the King County Medical Examiner.
King County investigated 10 overdose deaths last week involving fentanyl.
Kitsap County coroner Jeff Wallis said overdose substances generally migrate from King County to Kitsap County within a week, which means it’s likely already in circulation in Kitsap County.
“If you or someone you know is using rock or powdered drugs (especially those who believe they are using crack or powder cocaine), be aware it could be fentanyl or contain fentanyl,” a news release from Kitsap County Coroner’s Office said.
Those using drugs are encouraged to get treatment.
Another option is to never use drugs alone and have Narcan, also known as naloxone, on hand in case of an overdose, the news release said.
