NORTH BEND, Wash. — The Washington State Patrol’s fire training academy in North Bend is no longer needed after it was designated as a quarantine site for travelers possibly exposed to coronavirus.
U.S. citizens without symptoms of a coronavirus infection who have been in the province in the last 14 days would have been placed under quarantine with daily monitoring until their 15th day of having left the province.
“At no point was the facility used for quarantine purposes, but it did give the state a point of initial readiness for this evolving situation,” WSP Communications Director Chris Loftis said. “The Washington State Patrol will continue to dutifully respond to public safety needs and will always work to be good neighbors in areas of our facilities and service.”
According to the WSP, the current class of firefighting recruits have returned to the dormitories.
Anyone who have questions about what is happening in Washington, how the virus is spread and what to do if you have symptoms, people can contact the Department of Health’s call center at 1-800-525-0127 and press #.
