SEATTLE — The Northgate light rail station has reopened after law enforcement investigated a “suspicious package” found on the property.
The station was closed for about three hours on Tuesday afternoon. Normal operations resumed at the station at about 3:30 p.m.
The suspicious package was “rendered safe” by the Sound Transit bomb disposal unit, according to the King County Sheriff’s Office.
Link light rail service was suspended between the Roosevelt and Northgate stations during the closure. Service between the University of Washington and Angle Lake stations was not impacted.
Community members were asked to avoid the area while law enforcement responded to the scene.
