Officer pulls unresponsive driver from burning vehicle in Everett

In a recently released bodycam video, an Everett police sergeant rescued an unresponsive man from a burning car after a collision on Southeast Everett Mall Way, according to the Everett Police Department.

On December 23, 2024, Sergeant Ross responded to a collision in the 1500 block of Southeast Everett Mall Way.

When he arrived, he found an unresponsive man trapped inside of a burning vehicle.

The vehicle’s accelerator was depressed, causing the wheels to spin.

Another vehicle in front of the car was holding it in place.

With help from other responding aid crews, Sgt. Ross broke the driver’s side window and pulled the driver to safety.

While the driver was being assessed by medical personnel, the vehicle holding the car in place moved away, causing the burning vehicle to roll forward into a busy intersection.

An officer could then steer the moving, smoldering vehicle off the roadway.
