A corrections officer shot himself in the leg Wednesday afternoon at a Bremerton firing range.
The incident happened a few minutes after 3 p.m. at the Bremerton Police Department firing range, located on West Belfair Valley Road. The officer was a Kitsap County Jail corrections officers.
The injury is not life-threatening, Bremerton Police Lieutenant Randy Plumb said in a statement.
The officer was taken to an area hospital where he was in stable condition. Bremerton Police are investigating the incident.
