A busy Puyallup street closed Wednesday morning after a robbery suspect was shot by a police officers.
Police were called to an armed robbery at Denny’s restaurant in the South Hill neighborhood.
A chase ensued – lasting only a few minutes – and ended near South Meridian and South Route 512.
Police say the suspect had flashed a gun and so an officer fired his or her weapon.
“This person is a serial robber,” said Scott Engle with the Puyallup Police Department.
The suspect is expected to survive.
He was a passenger in a pickup truck; the getaway driver crashed trying to get away from police.
The investigation concluded on South Meridian around 9:30 a.m.
