As of 6 a.m., Olympia PD said the larger crowd had dispersed.

The protest has been underway since last week. At one point, Union Pacific asked authorities to remove protesters from the tracks when they formed a railroad blockade.

Because activists were once again on active railroad tracks Wednesday morning, police said it was an obvious safety concern.

Now that protesters have dispersed, there will be a cleanup effort where the group was camped and the tracks will be assessed for possible damage.

Police said drivers should expect traffic slowdowns at least until 9 a.m.

No injuries were reported.
