TACOMA, Wash. — The Tacoma Police Department says its Special Investigations Unit helped take down an illegal weed growing operation in Pierce County.

The department says on Dec. 11, they arrested one person who was caught selling significant quantities of cannabis off the record into the black market.

Law enforcement got a search warrant for the 17,000-square-foot warehouse and ended up seizing 7,789 marijuana plants, multiple pounds of manufactured cannabis products, three cars, one handgun, and an unknown amount of cash.

The person was arrested and has been charged with Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver and Unlawful Manufacturing of a Controlled Substance.
