One person is dead after a violent two-vehicle crash on Aurora Avenue North early Sunday morning. The crash occurred outside of Beth's Cafe, just west of Green Lake. Aurora was shut down until this afternoon.
Two vehicles were going southbound on Aurora when one of the drivers swerved into the other. Surveillance video from a store across the street shows how fast the car was going.
The driver of the dark gray sedan that had been hit appears to fall out of his car, and people went running out of the cafe to help. The impact of the crash was so forceful, the engine flew out of the vehicle.
The victim, a 46-year-old man, died on the scene. He has not yet been identified by police.
The driver of the other car, who police say is a 27-year-old man, was taken to the hospital.
