One dead, two hurt in Renton shooting

RENTON, Wash. — A 25-year-old Kent man is dead and two others are injured after a shooting early Sunday morning in Renton.

At around 2 a.m., police responded to a report of shots fired in the 500 block of South Grady Way. When they got to the scene, police said they saw hundreds of cars leaving a parking lot and learned that several people had been shooting guns.

Police later learned that just before they got there, witnesses had driven the three victims to the Valley Medical Center.

The Kent man was pronounced dead at the hospital. A 24-year-old Puyallup man and a 15-year-old boy suffered non-life-threatening wounds.

Detectives with the Renton Police Department are investigating and say they don’t know why the hundreds of people were gathered together or why the shooting happened.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Renton Police.
