MILTON, Wash. — A man riding a motorcycle was killed in a crash in Milton, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The crash on state Route 161 at 28th Avenue South happened just after 5 a.m. Tuesday.
Initially, all lanes of traffic were blocked, and then traffic was alternating in a single lane for more than four hours.
According to WSP troopers, the motorcyclist was going through a green light when a man in a car made an illegal left turn, hitting the motorcycle. The victim died at the scene.
Troopers say the driver of the car was intoxicated.
“It’s unfortunate that, you know, (there was) really not a whole lot the motorcyclist could’ve done according to the witnesses in this situation,” said Trooper Rick Johnson.
The highway reopened at around 9:10 a.m.
