ORTING, Wash. — Orting High School has postponed this week’s homecoming events because of a COVID-19 outbreak.
School officials said the outbreak occurred within the school’s football team. All unvaccinated players will have to quarantine for two weeks.
Postponed homecoming events include a parade and Olympics, assembly, football game, volleyball homecoming tailgate and the formal tailgate.
All football-related activities, including practices and games, are postponed until Oct. 19.
“OHS Homecoming Week is one of the biggest celebrations for staff, students, families and community members, and leaders throughout the City of Orting. Our district leaders will immediately work on planning future dates of the Homecoming events,” a post on the school’s website said.
