Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) is gearing up for the holiday travel rush with festive activities, updated travel amenities, and the return of the SEA Visitor Pass program.
SEA Airport anticipates over 2 million travelers from December 19 to January 2, with the busiest days expected on December 20 and 21, with 172,000 travelers expected Friday alone.
From December 20 to 27, travelers can enjoy a 90-minute free parking grace period in the General Parking area during evening hours, helping ease congestion during one of the busiest weeks of the year.
The free parking window runs from 8 p.m. to midnight, making it easier for friends and family to pick up or drop off passengers.
SEA Airport encourages drivers to use the south entrance off International Boulevard and 182nd Street for faster access.
Holiday festivities at SEA Airport include live music, roaming holiday characters, and interactive snow globes showcasing global holiday traditions. Visitors might also spot Jett the SEA Otter, the airport’s new mascot, at select events.
Additionally, the SEA Visitor Pass program is back, allowing non-travelers to register for access beyond security checkpoints. Whether meeting arriving loved ones or exploring the terminal’s offerings, the program provides more opportunities to enjoy the airport’s amenities.
Construction at the north end of the ticketing area is also wrapping up, with new, open spaces and upgraded check-in technology now available as part of the SEA Gateway project.
Travelers are encouraged to plan ahead as Checkpoint 5 remains closed, with guides in green available to assist.
To make travel easier, SEA recommends using SEA Spot Saver to reserve a security line spot, arriving early for flights, and taking advantage of public transportation or reserved parking options.
