Pearl Jam lead guitarist Mike McCready sent a message and song to fans Friday.
“I’m sitting in the bathroom where I do my best work,” he said. “I do have Crohn’s.”
McCready, 53, was diagnosed with the inflammatory bowel disease at age 21 and in the years since has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for the Chron’s and Colitis Foundation.
He also asked people to be safe. During the coronavirus pandemic, health officials said people over age 60 or people of any age with underlying health conditions have the highest risk.
As coronavirus concerns escalated earlier this month, Pearl Jam canceled their North American tour that was set to being March 20 in Canada.
