Pedestrian fatally hit by truck in Rainier Valley

SEATTLE — A pedestrian was killed when they were hit and trapped under a truck in Seattle's Rainier Valley Tuesday morning.

The crash in the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Way South at South Alaska Street is blocking all northbound, eastbound and westbound lanes. All southbound lanes are also blocked on MLK Jr Way S at South Oregon Street.

The pickup was on its side in the intersection and the victim was trapped underneath.  Seattle Fire said the victim was dead when medics arrived.

The victim has been removed and police are investigating at the scene.
