Pedestrian struck by car in Renton

RENTON, Wash. — A pedestrian was struck by a car on Rainier Avenue South at South Third Street on Saturday morning, police said.

Law enforcement said the victim suffered critical injuries and was taken to Harborview Medical Center.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and was determined not to be impaired, police said.

The southbound lanes of Rainier Avenue South were closed for the investigation.
