Pedestrian struck, killed by train in Marysville

MARYSVILLE, Wash. — A pedestrian was hit and killed Saturday by a train in Marysville, police said.

The accident happened after 11:30 a.m. at 88th Street and State Avenue.

Police said when they arrived at the scene, they found a man in his early 30s dead.

They also said a worker at a nearby business tried to warn the man about the train, but the victim did not respond.

The train attempted to stop but was unable to do so, hitting the man, authorities said.

The collision remains under investigation.
