Pedestrian struck, killed by vehicle in South Seattle

SEATTLE — A pedestrian died after being struck by a small SUV early Thursday in South Seattle.

At about 2:50 a.m., an SUV driver going north on Airport Way South near South Norfolk Street hit a 57-year-old man, police said.

Officials said the driver stopped and called 911.

Medics declared the victim dead at the scene.

Police said the driver showed no signs of impairment.

The investigation remains ongoing.
