Person dead after being shot in Central District of Seattle

SEATTLE — Seattle police are investigating a shooting that happened in the Central District of Seattle.

Around 4:25 a.m. police answered calls of a shooting on East Spruce Street in the Central District.

Police said they found an unconscious man with a gunshot wound.

Seattle Fire treated the man on the way to Harborview Medical Center but was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Police said they do not have a suspect in custody.

The area was taped off while detectives from the Homicide and Crime Scene Investigation Unit investigated.

Police do not know what led to the shooting and ask anyone with information to call 911 or the Violent Crimes Tip Line at (206) 233-5000.
