Person killed in fall off 300-foot cliff in Port Townsend

PORT TOWNSEND, Wash. — East Jefferson Fire crews are recovering the body of a person who fell off a cliff in Port Townsend.

Fire officials said they were called at 12:43 p.m. Sunday for a report of a person who fell down a 300-foot cliff west of North Beach County Park.

The victim is someone who was reported to be missing for about 24 hours.

Firefighters are using a boat to recover the body.

The victim’s identity has not yet been released.
