Person safely escapes house fire in Kitsap County

KITSAP COUNTY, Wash. — The sole occupant of a home that caught fire Monday escaped unharmed.

The fire, which appears to have started in the kitchen, was under control by Monday afternoon, Kitsap County fire officials said.

Firefighters remained at the scene to ensure all hot spots are out.

An investigation is underway.
