Pet killed in Tacoma house fire

TACOMA, Wash. — Fire crews are investigating a house fire in the eastern part of Tacoma.

The Tacoma Fire Department first tweeted about the fire on East Harrison Street at 2:41 a.m. Monday.

The five people who live in the house were able to get out safely and are being helped by the Red Cross.

Firefighters were able to locate the family’s three pets, but one of them did not survive.

Photos from the scene showed the roof and front of the home were charred and smoldering and a car near the house was damaged as well.

The home’s front windows have since been boarded up.
