TACOMA, Wash. — Pierce County deputies helped wrangle two animals on May 24 that were on the loose after they managed to escape their enclosure.
The Pierce County Sheriff’s Department said officers were sent to help animal control with two pigs that made their way to an apartment complex in the 1900 block of 70th Avenue East in University Place.
Animal control officers were able to quickly wrangle the pigs. In a video from the Sheriff’s Department, you can hear the pigs oinking and grunting after being caught. Officers were about to take them to the Humane Society when deputies found the owners.
The owners told deputies that “Piggy Pay” and “Peter Porker” had escaped from their fenced property and they didn’t know. The Sheriff’s Department said deputies helped guide the pigs back home and blocked the spot where they escaped.
“No two days are the same here, and you really never know what you’re going to see!” said the Sheriff’s Department.
