Pierce County Ferry Service suffers another breakdown

NOW PLAYING ABOVE

PIERCE COUNTY, Wash. — The Pierce County Ferry Service is trying to get a ferry back up and running after another breakdown Saturday morning.

County officials say the generator on the Christine Anderson ferry has been repaired. The vessel services Ketron and Anderson Islands.

Officials are now performing tests and waiting for the Coast Guard’s approval to resume service. Until then passenger-only service is available.

The Christine Anderson is the backup for the Steilacoom ferry which is also currently undergoing service.
