SAMMAMISH, Wash. — Pine Lake Middle School in Sammamish will stay closed for the remainder of the day Monday in response to a bomb threat.
The school was evacuated out of precaution at about 11 a.m., according to a notice posted to the school’s website.
Students who normally take the bus to school will be transported home on their normal bus routes.
Students who walk to school or are dropped off by their parents were escorted by staff members to Sunny Hills Elementary at 11:45 a.m., where they could be picked up by a parent or guardian.
Only parents or emergency contacts known to the school have been instructed to pick up students. They were also asked to bring a form of ID with them.
Police were at the school investigating the threat as of 12 p.m.
It has not been determined if the school will be open on Tuesday, due to the ongoing investigation of this incident.
