SEATTLE — After nearly seven months, playgrounds reopened to Seattle families Tuesday.
The city advises that while they’re open, visitors still need to limit their time to about 30 minutes.
The point is especially important at the more popular parks in the city such as Green Lake.
Some busier parks worth avoiding during peak hours include: Green Lake, Seward, Magnuson, Discovery, Lincoln, Gas Works, Carkeek and Jefferson Park.
Seattle has over 150 play areas.
The city is encouraging people returning to playgrounds to take advantage of morning hours, especially at popular parks that get busy in the afternoon.
There are also some new rules in place that will be critical for anyone returning to play to remember, including five or fewer kids playing on equipment at a time, nothing to eat or drink can be on the same equipment everyone is touching, and hands must be washed before playing.
