SEATTLE — A 36-year-old man was arrested Thursday morning following a foot pursuit in Seattle’s Northgate neighborhood.
Police said an officer was flagged down after a robbery at gunpoint occurred in the 117000 block of Pinehurst Way NE just before 1 a.m.
The victim gave police a suspect description and said he fleD in a dark blue SUV on 15th Avenue NE.
“Officers recognized the description of the suspect and vehicle as someone they had recently contacted. Officers relocated to the suspect’s nearby address and observed the described suspect vehicle,” the Seattle Police Department said in a news release.
The suspect was then seen attempting to avoid officers by crawling through a parking lot. When the suspect was ordered to stop, he fled on foot.
During the foot pursuit police said the suspect “threw a bag containing a large baggie of methamphetamine inside.”
Officers located the suspect behind a fence a block and away attempting to hide behind a fence.
The suspect was taken into custody and was booked into the King County Jail.
