Police arrest suspect in fatal Tacoma shooting

TACOMA, Wash. — An arrest was made Thursday in a deadly shooting in Tacoma earlier this week.

Before 10 a.m. Tuesday, officers responded to a report of a shooting in a motel room in the 8800 block of South Hosmer Street.

When officers arrived, they found an unresponsive man. He was taken to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as 32-year-old Joshua Moore-Hughes.

On Thursday, detectives identified the suspect as a 33-year-old man and arrested him.

He will be booked into the Pierce County Jail on suspicion of murder and unlawful possession of a firearm.
