EDMONDS, Wash. — Edmonds Police Department is trying to track down four people seen in surveillance video after a robbery that left a 16-year-old girl from Everett severely injured after she was dragged by a car through the parking lot outside a Winco and Dick’s Drive-In along Highway 99.
It happened back on June 28 just before 1:30 a.m.
The video shows two people walking around and then interacting with two other people who pull up in a car, just moments before the victim was approached.
“This vehicle pulled up next to her and they asked for something that she had in her hand. She went to show them, what she had in her hand, and reached in and that’s when they kind of grabbed it and then took off and drug her. She hit her head on the ground – she was dragged for about 30 feet,” said Commander Josh McClure with Edmonds PD.
The victim made her way to Dick’s Drive-In, where employees helped her until police arrived.
“She was severely injured, she had some permanent injuries to her face and her vision – may not even be a full recovery when it comes to her vision,” said McClure.
Police did not release any video of the victim, to protect her.
So why wait several months to release the video to help find the suspects?
“They’ve had several search warrants and they had some leads, but sometimes those leads go stale and so now we’re coming to the public, looking for help, hoping that somebody knows something,” said McClure.
