HOODSPORT, Wash. — A cougar attacked and killed a dog Monday at a beach in Mason County, according to the Mason County Sheriff's Office.
Wildlife officers and deputies responded to a report of a cougar attack at a beach north of Hoodsport, Wash. Hoosport is located along the Hood Canal, at the intersection of U.S. Route 101 and State Route 119.
The dog's owner was walking it on the beach when the cougar attacked and killed the dog, deputies said.
Wildlife officers had to "dispatch" the cougar, deputies said.
