SEATTLE — After arresting a man for a DUI Thursday, police found a handgun, almost 100 rounds of ammunition and narcotics in the car he was driving.
At approximately 10:30 p.m., Seattle police received reports of a possible DUI driver driving erratically near 8th Avenue Northwest and Northwest 100th Street in North Seattle. Police responded to the area and found a vehicle parked illegally in the intersection of 8th Avenue Northwest and Alderbrook Place about 45 minutes later.
Upon closer look, police found the driver passed out in the front seat of the vehicle, with narcotics visible on the floorboard. Officers woke the 42-year-old man and arrested him for DUI and possession of narcotics.
Police seized the vehicle and applied for a search warrant to retrieve the narcotics. Officers discovered a variety of drugs including approximately 14 grams of methamphetamine, 7 grams of fentanyl, 5 grams of crack cocaine, 5 grams of heroin and more than 60 pharmaceutical pills.
Police also found a pair of brass knuckles, a loaded gun and 91 rounds of ammunition throughout the car.
The suspect also had a Department of Corrections warrant and was booked into the South Correctional Entity Jail.
